And where did this money all come from originally? Wasn't all the invested capital originally from donations? From those poor people they used to feature on the backs of Watchtowers who raised a chicken, sold it for a dollar then donated the dollar to the org? From those subsistence farmers in Africa who set aside a part of their crop to sell so they have some money to donate? From the widow on the old age pension who skips meals to make a donation? Please, don't give is this rot. The whole watchtower empire is built on donations from the grassroots level.

Why do "Apostates/exjws" always go into "Watchtower-bashing" when you show them inconsistencies in the Bible?
by booker-t ini have noticed with "apostates/exjws" they always resort to "watchtower-bashing" whenever you show them inconsistencies of the bible.
we could be talking about contradictions, such as where did cain get his wife if adam,eve, abel, and cain were the only ones on earth?
the usual answer when they cannot answer will be "well the wt gave false prophecies in 1975".

I can answer why there are inconsistencies in the Bible without mentioning anything about my former religion, the one I am apparently not allowed to mention when I comment, as per the op. The answer is: the bible is inconsistent because it is a compilation of different writings across time, genre, socio-historic contexts and belief systems from a period of around 800 years. It is all over the place because it's not a well-written novel but a collection of works by many disparate people.

by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

by Witness 007 inat the international convention last week i caught up with my old congregation and asked about the young ones...there were 2 answers.
1. they flat out left got a boyfriend etc.
and 2. havent seen them for awhile meaning they faded or went off the grid so as not to be disfellowshipped.

I never pioneered but I can tell you I've saved a fortune since I left the cult early last year. I earn less than I ever did because of work fluctuations but seem to have more money, a car not under finance and my own home.
